A short autobiography outlines my path from Ayrshire, Scotland, to my present location in Ottawa, Canada.
The item on farm mechanization was developed as an addition to my biography to illustrate the changes I have observed over the years at Drumjoan farm where I grew up, although I have not been living there since the mid-50s.
Amifostine is an article about a drug that protects cells against ionizing radiation such as x-rays and gamma rays. A significant part of my research career was spent in search of the mechanism of action of drugs of this type. The mechanism was successfully elucidated as described in the article.
My science fiction novel, "A Teardrop in Space" is the main component of the web page. It is so-called 'hard' science fiction as it does not go beyond the laws of science; neither aliens nor supernatural powers. The novel was completed a few years ago with small additions until 2018. My intention is to publish it one section at a time to allow for possible feedback. I am currently working on a sequel, the second of three novels I have in mind.
